UPDATES CONTINUED Flying GCHOX April/May 2008 We managed to book Andy Draper from the LAA to come to White Waltham and train us on how to fly our new aircraft. Unfortunately, the weather was not brilliant and we had to curtail several sorties to avoid very heavy showers. We all reached the stage where Andy was happy with our flying but we also knew that we wanted to practice flying with each other before going solo or taking passengers. Goff achieved a solo flight in April and he is now the mentor for Ian and Peter. GCHOX is wonderful to fly once airborne, but it is a very slippery aircraft and we have all had difficulty landing smoothly. We have also discovered that whilst we are now used to saying Golf Charlie Hotel Oscar X-ray, it gets air traffic controllers a bit tongue tied. Try saying it quickly. Here are some pictures of our training.
